2004 5.4 engine knock
bought my fx4 used 9mo.ago and asked the ford dealer i bought it from if the knock was normal and he said the all do its normal. (should have walked away right then and there) took it in for the knock and a couple of other small isues under waranty a couple of months later and they replaced a coil pack on #8 and said it was good to go. well a week ago i'm driving cross country to visit friends and family and as i'm rolling into houston the check engine light comes on and it starts running rough. take it in to a ford dealer and they say #3 dropped a valve into the cylinder and i need a new motor. i purchased the second best waranty i could on the truck so we shall see what ford has to say about that one. if they dont replace it at minimal cost to me i will be doing evrythimg in my power to start a class action lawsuit about this issue. since this problem is evedent in so many 04 5.4's
