Tranny "clunk" going in/out of Overdrive

Hey guys,

Well this weekend I'm doing quite a bit of work to the truck. My tires and exhaust got delivered last night, now I'm just waiting on the leveling kit. Here's my issue:

For a little while now (5k-ish miles) going in and out of overdrive the tranny makes a clunk noise during the shift. Time to change the tranny fluid and filter? I am making a trip up north on Sunday and don't want to have the tranny ***** the bed on the way.

On saturday I am doing the leveling kit (2"), brakes, exhaust (MBRP), and new tires (325/60r20 Terra Grapplers). Should I go ahead and do the tranny fluid and filter while I'm at it, or just wait till I get back. I am figuring on about 2k miles throughout the trip.

Thanks guys!

It can't hurt anything doing the tranny flush and filter change while you're at it. If clunk persists you may want a scan done for tranny codes to see if there are any other problems. It's always cheaper to do preventative maintenance than a rebuild.

I would worry about the trans befor any of the above you mentioned. I'm taking a 2k round trip to FL in a week pulling a 30 ft camper.. I have gone over my truck very good just to make sure i have no problems. I have taken care of this truck since day one and pretty much no what it should and should not sound like. And a tranny problem would be tops on the list to take care of.
