i was wondering if u could take a 2001 intercooler and put it on a 97 mine currently does not have a intercooler and i just got back from sc where a man and a bunch of 7.3 parts for sale on craiglist and i picked up the intercooler and pipes and turbo for a 100? did not know if any of this stuff would work on mine but was not leaving it behind if u know what i meen so if anybody has any info on this would much appericate it thanks
it can work. you just gotta pipe it in. i have a 6.0 on my idi. after i mounted it all up, went to the exhaust shop and had him bend all my tubes up. took a little bit of work and routing but it worked great. you are going to lose overall boost pressure since your trying to fill a ton more volume but its going to be a denser charge so thats helpful. it will lower your egt's too. just heat wrap and ceramic spray your exhaust manifolds and up-pipes for maximum spooling on your turbo. keeping the heat in will help tons.
sweet thanks was wondering that going to strat that in the am then want it on for the next trip do u know if it will help my milage any? (oreocreaming by the way love the truck plan on putting mine up there soon as i dont have to work out of it )
