Power Steering Mod Gearbox Question
Probably beaten to death, but still one more lingering question. I have a 2WD with the Bendix manual steering box. I believe the Bendix power steering box will go in with no frame mods. Will the Saginaw power steering box go in with no frame mods? I know I'll have to deal with the steering column, but I'd rather not redrill the frame (but I really want the Saginaw box).

Exactly what I wanted to hear! I read all of the DIY stories about members who have made the swap, and had to jury-rig a new four-bolt adapter and grind their frames down. It finally sunk in that these were for the 4x4 front ends. Good news for the 2WD crowd, but it meant that I had no idea any more what to expect. Now that I know I can do it without frame mods, I just have to chase down the parts!

Joseph, One can avoid most of those pitfalls buy buying a donor truck that has the equipment like your truck or what you want in your truck. All parts needed are on the donor.
Look at other places other than junk yards, like back & side yards, and Craigslist.
