DD Ranger diesel ?

So guys I have been looking at ranger diesels for a while now as a dd cause rangers are small and agile so

I have seen a lot of 6.5L gm diesel rangers and 4bt but I don't want to cross breed and before someone says something stupid yes I know ford has had cummins engines

Also I'm debating how hard would it be to use a 86 6.9L in a 94 ranger good mpg great sound

What do u guys think??? I have a 94 ranger I need to choose a suitable engine all it needs to be able to do is tow my motorcycle and get decent mpg and reach "interstate" speeds that's all

So I'm really wanting to do this so hopefully the feed back is good

Thx

Did Ford produce (or use) any diesels in their agricultural (tractors) or industrial applications that might fit?

Especially a purely mechanical-injection diesel that can take bio-diesel or anything else "oil like" you can throw at it

Both those are for dragging I don't care how fast it is as long as it will hit 140Km on the freeway

Thats why I'm looking for a 6.9 it's easy to wire up and the thing is a black throng mule and I want a ranger so I can park it anywhere

In the mid 80s, Ford did offer a diesel ranger. 2wd or 4wd.

IIRC it was a Mazda diesel.

If I were doing it, I'd do either an OM616 or OM617 Mercedes diesel from a 240 or 300.
