question is ,but would it be that nice today if they didn't paint it ? so they did you a favor painting it .
That is a big" IF", depends on the location, how much it was exposed to the elements and if the PO took care of the truck. The PO, in my honest opinion, did not do you a favor by painting the bumper considering what it took to get that junk off and all the fumes/burns you were exposed to. The point is now.....that it is a nice bumper.
OK......The front bumper turned out great as you've seen but the rear was originally paint white so I held off on stripping that. I was looking at the grille and said what the hell so I stripped the buckets around the headlights with the aircraft stripper and they turn out pretty good. The paint is gone but now they need to be polished. Any suggerstions on cleaning up the buckets? It looks like they scuffed them up alittle to get the paint to adhere. If they turn out good I'm going to strip the rest of the grille.
you can sand the aluminum with 600 wet dry paper then 1500 wet dry paper then buff them with an orbital and cutting compound finish up with blue magic and they will shine like chrome . for small parts i put the orbital in a vise and move the part around
