Got an old ford F150 1979 4X4. With the 300 six, The truck only runs with the key in the start position.. I have figured out that by putting an adjustable wrench on the key its enough weight to keep it in the start position. then I can bump the starter wire to the battery and shes purring like a kitten, let the key go back to the run position and its just like shutting it off. Ive replaced the switch, the computer module on the inside of the left fender and no change, I've check fuses ran wires but I'm not finding the cause. any of you guys got any ideas?? thanks

We have a saying at work, show me where you have been, I'll show you the problem. When the switch is in the start position, you should have voltage to the S terminal of the solenoid. That should turn the engine over. Get that working, and we will walk you through the rest of your issue. If your not getting the voltage to little terminal on the solenoid, we will start there. Believe it or not, electricle issues are not to hard to figure out.
