Idiot lights not working

I replaced all of the bulbs in the gauges, in and around the cluster in my '74, but I lost (don't work) all of the idiot lights.

Any ideas?

Did they work before you changed bulbs? If you turn the key on with engine off they should light up, do they?

They worked before, so it's probably something I did. They don't light up when the key is on/engine off.

Yep, it must be something you did. Check all the connections, make sure they are clean and solid. Make sure you used the correct replacement bulbs. Do the guages work? What about the dash lights?

Gauges work, but dash lights don't. Grrrrrrrrr.

Idiot lights not working

There should only be 2 idiot lights.
One for temp & one for oil pressure.

All the other bulbs are instrument cluster lighting.

Which ones aren't working?

Idiot lights not working

Just for Craps & Giggles, I replaced the headlight switch to see if maybe the rheostat was shot, (or perhaps something else related to the switch was causing the problem) but no dice.

All connections look good, brand new bulbs, printed circuit looks good, gauges work, just no dash lights.

Is there a ground strap somewhere that I should be looking for???

PS. I DO get a light lighting up the windshield wiper and light switch. Just no gauges...
