I recently had some great tips, but this is the cheapest! Try rubbing alcohol, it works great and easy and is cheap, also use the dirty rag on your aluminum mags to get rid of brake dust with no real work.
Does the Alcohol remove any wax or any other type or sealant? I would think it would?! I did find some stuff at Autozone that did a great job on my headlights. For about $5 (and about an hour) I was able to buff the yellow right back to clear...and with a nice coat of Carnuba on top, they are nice and purdy!
I used some Turtle Wax polishing compound on mine a few weeks ago and they're still looking good. However, one of my headlights has the reflective material peeling off on the inside of it!!
From my experience with plastic windshields in airplanes, NEVER use alcohol on the plastic. After a period of time it will cause permanent crazing of the plastic even if you only used it once. Meguiar plastic polish & cleaners are highly recommended.<O</O
Before using the Meguiar's, I used Aluminum rim polish (Mother's) It worked really well. But I find that the Meguiar's leave a "sparklier" look when finished
I had a buddy that used flitz on his headlights and they turned out great so I turned my truck over to him to do mine too, and wow, can I see, I can finally see, its amazing. but I need some new headlights, these have brown around the edges and look bad with my clear corners, they are the white smoked and then you have brown smoked headlights, ugh, oh well.
I heard that the flitz works really well. I have a buddy that used it on his car and the head lights came out just like new. Imagine something on TV that works
