Automatic fold down step?

About ten years ago I looked at a '78 or '79 Bronco at a used car lot. It had a lift kit and big tires. When I opened the front door, a small metal step swung down from under the truck to make for easy entry and exit. It was not electric but mechanical, moving in and out at the same speed the door was opened or closed. With the door closed the truck looked as if it had no steps. I wish I had looked underneath to see how it worked. Has anyone seen these before or know who made them? I would love to find them for my truck.

Im not sure how that would even work. The electric ones are nice, however they are pricey.
