Thought this might be helpful information. Many folks may already know this but for those who don't it might come in handy when trying to figure out just where the nearest factory grounding location might be. Now, these are specific to 1992-96 models but given Ford's penchant for leaving things the way they were for as long as possible, it is quite possible/probable that older models may well have similar factory grounding locations.
There are ten (10) grounding locations listed for the full-size F-series/Bronco for 1992-1996. They are as follows:
Ground A - Starter upper mounting bolt (gasoline engines)/ Right front of engine (diesel engines)
Ground B - Right front of engine bay near battery.
Ground C - Lower left front of engine.
Ground D - Right front of engine bay on the upper radiator support.
Ground E - Left front of engine bay on the upper radiator support.
Ground F - Behind bottom of left cowl panel. (This one is inside the cabin below the dash).
Ground G - Rear of the left front fender apron. (conveniently near the PCM and a ton of other electronics).
Ground H - Behind bottom of the right cowl panel. (This would be the OTHER one inside the cabin below the dash).
Ground I - Left rear corner of the cargo area near the tail lamp assembly.
Ground J - Center rear of the vehicle on the rear crossmember.
These are not the only places you can get a solid ground connection but they ARE the locations where there is most likely a bolt or some anchor point to attached a ring crimp or other wires to splice a replacement or additional ground wire in. For what its worth.
If I may and an additional location that is diesel specific. Since there are two batteries there ia a ground on both side bottom front of engine. This is some great info since as our trucks get older wiring becomes a bigger issue lol.
Ground E - Left front of engine bay on the upper radiator support.
Anyone know what size bolt the above ground is? M6, M8...?
I was cleaning rust off of it on the wire wheel on a bench grinder and it shot across the room and I can't find it. I know... Stupid move.
Is the location of Ground E the ground you're looking for the thread size for? I can check my 1995, but I'm feeling too lazy to pull open the service manual and search for the location of G100.

Hi Rod, Yes I am looking for the bolt size/thread for the Ground E (G100) on the left side radiator support. Its the ground for the fuel pump/sending unit and also the windshield washer pump ground. I found the Ford part number for the bolt but like most of the Bronco stuff its no longer available, even just to find out what the size is. That bolt is: N806972-S36MG Screw to Ground Wire Assembly.
Any help is appreciated. No hurry.
Thanks, John
Is the bolt in the following images the one you're interested in? If so, I'm not real confident on the size. A 7/16" socket fit the head best, an 11mm was a bit sloppy and a 10mm was too small. But from a thread size and pitch perspective it seemed to align best with a 6mm x 1.00. The threads were clean after I ran the tap through, and it wasn't a struggle to start the tap, so it didn't seem like I was cutting new threads, but it also didn't seem to be undersized. That size tap seemed to fit the threaded hole well. However, that size die didn't want to fit the bolt very nicely. The leading edge of the bolt has been squashed though to make the leading edge a bit triangular, I image to prevent the bolt from easily backing out, but it seemed to be too large to fit through the die. The length of the threaded portion measured 18.7mm which would be an odd length for a metric bolt. But I didn't find any taps or dies in my Standard size tap and die set that fit either. So I'm not sure I am providing much help. Although from the looks of that bolt, it's probably a good thing I pulled it out and cleaned the threads a bit. Location of the ground bolt The ground bolt
Thanks so much for taking out the time to do that! My standard size taps wouldn't go through either. I don't have metric tap/die set, guess i am going to get a set. So looks like a 6mm x 1.00 x 20mm long flange head bolt will do it. That is a weird length 18.7, maybe the bolt was cut from a longer bolt that was used for something else? Thanks again!
The bolt sticks through the threaded insert pretty far, but there's also nothing nearby for it to bottom out against, so anywhere from 15mm to 25mm in length would be fine. You're welcome!

I noticed that also when I took it out, sticks through pretty far. Thanks for your help again.
