What happened here?
I go away for seven months, and we loose the lead chapter title. Aw Shuks...
I need to come back and post like mad. Anyway, I have a short leave here in TN for a week or so, and will try to update my hectic life for you all.
My truck now has more HP, more torque and a very new look. I would post a picture, but I managed to blow up the aux tranny away from home, so the truck is being fixed 1600 miles away, by a racing tranny place. They are going to put a special torque converter in, a Banks specific shift kit, and a beefed up aux tranny.
The truck now is a single wheel pickup, with long box, and a black winch bumper up front, with black grill and headlight doors, and a black bumper at the back. It has a long box on it, with a black reflex liner, and tonneau cover. To finish it off, I got a very good respray.
The deciding factor in the rebuild came from a flying deer in January, that did a lot of damage on the right hand side, which got resprayed.. made the left look scruffy so that had to get done as well, and the flatbed looked a bit naff too, so I got rid of that. Messed around with the hubs for a while and now I have single wheels, and a truck that turns heads where ever it goes. Oh, I changed the exhaust too, myself, with Sarah helping. I now have a very cool 4 inch exhaust that gives more power, and sounds great.
When I get the tranny fixed, I am having the main tranny beefed up, and a very pricey torque converter put in. So that will put the price up. So far I have spent $7,000 on the conversion, and need another $5K for the tranny work. I could have done without that expense, but it was a spectacular melt down of the aux tranny - the noise could be heard over the sound of an accellerating diesel truck with closed windows. (Sarah was in her Lariot at the time, 200 yards in front of me.)
The sound was like the noise heard in a crusher. Awesome noise, then a humongous bang, of the main shaft snapping. Too much power through it, I think.
Anyhow, I am back for a while, so say hi.

I just happened to see your handle as 'most recent post' in the main index and thought "man where has that guy been? It's been a long time since we heard from him."
Thanks for giving us the update on your truck. What exactly is it you do for the Brother's and which order is it? Sorry, I forgot. Somehow I always imagined you trucking in the vital supply of sacrimental wine! I used to have a neighbor that studied for the Trapist's, but he weakened and didn't take the vows. He became a lay school teacher instead. He says the Trapist's are the marine corps of the church! My son graduated from a prep school run by the Augustinians and they were all a great bunch of guys.

Truthfully - I expected to be, since I can't be home very much and people must wonder about that.
Hey? How can I make things happen from more than a thousand miles away anyhow....
But I'm still a Memphis man.

-And that's after seeing everthang else around. I've been around the entire world, after all.
I like it in "T" county. I can hardly wait to come home...
