I just installed my rosewood stage II's and WOW what a difference from the old worn out stock ones ( had 263,000 mi) I ordered a PHP 6 pos. chip ( on it's way in the mail) so I am running in stock mode right now. The idle is more consistent, was bouncing between 450 and 700 rpm. It does not die coming off cruise to idle anymore. Completely cleaned up the exhaust and for the first time I actually hit about 32 lbs of boost before I had to let off. Boost was only about 17- 20 on a good before. Two thumbs up to Rosewood. I am going to have to baby it for awhile till I get inner cooler installed .
My question is how to install the chip (never done it before), any ticks, tips, video's
Piece of cake. Once you've removed it the first time and prepped it properly, you'll be able to get at it from the e-brake location. Pull the three 13mm bolts and there is the chip access point. Run your wire behind the dash and your all set!
i can hit the same amount of boost in stock as i can with the hot tune, just takes alot longer to hit that boost obviously, i think my pcm fuels differently... same haze at WOT on stock as my other tunes when there cleaned up on full boost. its weird.
just wait till you get that tuner in there, HELL of a difference. my buddy did the same deal as you 2s and php and i love his tunes. im picking up a ts chip soon enough and ill probably have them for my other tunes, exhaust is so clean!
shaun lindmark, hes on here every now and then, more so on PSN. me and him tossed them in 2 hours flat start to finish and runs great, again jim your the man. but he saw my truck and wanted 2s immediately. its pulls HARD. wish i had an auto now..
Yeah. I know what you mean. My friend has a 99 with a 6-speed. He bought it because he was worried about the "glass nature" of the 4R100/E4OD. He's kicking himself now because the automatics just pull so dang hard from a stop to top speed.
It's funny hearing about people with stock trucks that want 500+ HP. 400 is plenty fun.
yeah id say its fun! i am shooting for 5s myself hopfully this time next year and want to make a smidge more with a little juice for the dyno, the event up here is pretty big and so far the ford besides 1 6.4 made the lowest numbers! i want to be right up there with the other guys LOL
