BTS, 38R and bellowed up pipes on the way...

This turned into the one thing led to another kind of upgrade. Trans took a dump so I called up BTS. My build date is the 16th. Then I decided that would be an ideal time to tackle my leaking up pipes. Having been battling turbo surge for quite a while...and wanting more power, I decided to go ahead and order a 38r. So...right now I sit here awaiting my call from Brian on the 16th and waiting for some packages to arrive at my door from Riff Raff.

My current plan is to go ahead and pull the transmission and get ready for up pipes and turbo. As soon as they arrive install them and wait on the transmission. I've done some reading/searching and think I have a grip on this, but does anybody have any tips/caveats. Anything else I should look at "while it's all out"? It's a bit of crunch time because I have a 3000 mile trip with the 5th wheel coming up in 3 weeks.

In the meantime I sit here patiently waiting....

you dont need to pull the trans to do your uppies. just unbolt them at the manifold and most likely one or both of them will fall out and you can pull the collector out from the top. when you put in your bellowed uppies just loosely assemble them and drop them down from the top. tighten everything up at the collector but leave the lower 4 bolts loose until you mate it up to the turbo......are you going to BTS to get the trans or is it being shipped to you? if its getting shipped to you then i retract my previous statement! lol.....

Are you going to delete your EBPV? I have a few parts for that if you're interested. PM sent.

I'm having the BTS shipped to me. The truck is having problems shifting from gear to gear even after I fixed the 2-3 shift valve and there was quite a bit of metal in the pan.

If you gonna have to pull the trans anyway just do it now. It willame the up pipes and turbo so much easier and you will be ready for the trans when it gets in.

Intercooler boots since you have most of them off, that is unless you have done them already.... which then leads to plentum inserts...
