I have a 64 F250 that already had the power steering conversion. i just bought a 66 F100 and want power steering on that too. Any idea of the cost involved? thanks, KAT
Is your F-100 a 4x4 or a 4x2?
If a 4x2 it will be relatively easy, especially if you buy a '73-'79 donor truck with power steering, power brakes and the engine/transmission combination you want.
It will all transplant over, and you can probably sell enough parts off the donor truck to make the purchase cost back.
If a 4x4, it will cost more, and require more resources.
i spent years building my 64 but never got hooked up with a forum. i posted some pictures but don't see them, wondered if you could see them. perhaps they need to make sure they are not offensive first. i bought the 64 with most of the body and suspension already redone but the motor had a piston with a hole in it. seller thought it was a 460 so i got lucky when the mechanic took it apart and said it was a 429. The rest of the engine was sound so i had it rebuilt and balanced. it runs excellent. i also put an RV cam, sanderson ceramic coated headers, flow master, edelbrock intake manifold and carb. i love that truck! unfortunately my 18 yr old loves it too so i bought him a project truck of his own. thus the 66. most of the 66 352s have 3 on the tree, this one has 3 on the floor. i was wondering if that was converted or if some of them were sold that way originally. his motor is strong but it needs some cosmetics. opposite of my 64 when purchased. my 429 is out of a grand torino and barely fits :-) kat
