Hi everyone, I finaly joined here, as I've been reading posts here for a while now. I have a question hopefully somebody can help me with.
I just installed a fog light kit on my 2011 F-250, which came with the fog lights, wiring harness, switch, and auto-light snesor. Now my truck previously did not have auto lights, but since it the kit came with all the nescesarry equipment I figured it would work. However when I put the switch on the auto setting the lights will come on when the truck is on and go off when I turn the truck off, but they won't go off durring the day (when it's bright out). Just wondering if anyone knows if it's possible for the auto light function to work if the truck was not originally equiped with it.
Do you have a little dome sensor on your dash in the center by the wind shield you need to have that sensor to tell truck when it is day or night
yes, the kit came with the sensor, and I have it installed on the dash now. I have a feeling that some settings have to be changed by the dealer or someone with the IDS software.
How did the rest of the install go I want to do the same on mine
The install was a breeze, everything was plug and play, even the wiring harness had the clips already atached in the proper spot to clip to the bumper. Now this was the oem kit, if there is an aftermarket one I don't know that it would be the same. I got this kit on ebay for $215 with free shipping, a great deal if you ask me.
