Fog light question
I just installed the Ford fog light kit on my 2005 F-250. It came with a new headlight switch assembly. The indicator for the fog lights being in the "on" position lights up amber color. I would have thought it would be green like the other instrument indicators. Anybody with a 2005 that has factory installed fog lights mind telling me if theirs is amber (kind of yellow looking) or green.
Also, does the fog light automatically turn off when the headlights are in the "high beam" position on the factory installed versions?

I also installed the kit on my 05. The fog light indicator is also amber on mine and the fogs will turn off with the high beams. I did modify my wiring to keep the fogs on with the brights. If you want to do this modification look in the tech folder section of the 6.0 forum.

factory with mine it's amber .also the federal goverment highway laws state the fog lamps most turn off with the highbeams. so i just went and got both the h13 and h10 for the fog lamps from http://www.automotivelightingusa.com/ that cured it all i'm street legal in my wireing and brite as all tomorrow, and these new h13's for the 05/6 are brite blue /white. same for the fog lamps . gee day light at night with both on.

The ford fog light kit is 5C3Z-15200-AC. The list price was $275, but a dealer sold it to me wholesale for $207. The installation instructions did not come with the kit. I had to call a toll free number (listed on the box) to get the instructions faxed to me. The instructions for the electrical connections are a little confusing. They refer to a 16 pin connector, but my XL had a 12 pin and a 6 pin connector that plugs inth the headlight switch assembly. I just made the connections to the pin numbers listed and everything worked out. If you have any questions, I will try to help. John

My local service dept made it sound like it was not do-able to install factory fog lamps. Did I understand correctly that the kit comes with a new switch? I have the automatic headlights. Does new switch have this feature?

hardest part i have seen is takeing the front bumper off. "it's heavy" i don't personally know of any other way to bolt them unto the bumper properly. getting it off is only 6 bolts not hard every thing else plugs in .
mine was factory but a med sized bambi caused me to have to replace mine and the bar. headlamp switch i can't help you with don't know how it comes out yet any way.
