Is there anyway to I.D. a 351W when it is not in a vehicle.... or when the ID sticker is missing from the valve cover?? How to tell?? Thank's for any input.
Visually: Look at the waterpump, if the closest part to the heads is around 1in away, it's a 351. It they reach each other, it's a 302. I think i also remember the 351 having the dist. "sinked" and the 302 being more reachable.
A 351 looks just like a 302.. only wider and taller, and of course these Windsors looks nothing like any other Ford engine so spotting one should be easy.. you would think.
