I have a 2008 6.4L and the air vents are breaking! The plastic that holds the lever breaks, then the two vent covers that direct the air do not work as one unit. Is anyone else seeing this? How hard is it to replace the vent covers that direct the air? Thank you for any help!
Well I don't know all the answers but this I can tell you.
The center stack is easy to remove. The fake wood and the vents, all that is one piece. So if those are the ones that are broken all you need to do is pop the two lower black pieces out with a screwdriver and then you will see a 8mm bolt.
Remove the bolt (1 on each side) then the whole cover comes off as one piece. Be careful of the 4x4 switch, cig lighter wires when pulling it out. There are the same type of tabs as under the steer piece has.
I have not heard of anyone else mentioning a problem.
