well what started as a trip to the mechanic for misfires turned into needing a new engine or rebuilding it. they said that #2 clylinder is all scratched up and loss 50% power in that cylinder. it's a 2002 4.6L. shop said about $3500 for used engine installed does that sound right, or should I take it somewhere else for second opinion? truck had 99,948 miles on it, almost made 100,000
yeah I thought so to but this is the second ford that about 100,000 miles the motor goes out. never delt with this shop before so guess I will put it on the trailer and take it to another shop, thsnks

No offense intended, but maybe after 2 failing with less than 100K miles, one needs to look at the driver/owner.

well i claim this one cause ive done alot of work to it and ran it hard but the other was a blue 97 f-150 with 6cyl 5 spd 4wd. that was all stock when the motor blew. the shop said that it probley was that CAI i had, guess its back to stock air filter. said it sucked it to much dust and over time it scratched up that cylinder.
