well after droping the tank and bypassing the seporator all is well. I drove all the way to oklahoma city its about 35 thier and 35 back. Both times i turned her off she fired right back over so we shall see. i had about five gallons in the tank it wasent to bad as far as trash in the tank and the pump was still working correctly. Only time will tell.
you might want to inspect your pickup filters. I bought two replacements for my tanks. I know both need them. They are about $27/ea but it helps with a lot of fuel delivery issues. You also get a chance to clean and inspect your tanks.
well with new days brings new issues. My pump gummed up again im starting to think somone may have spiked my tank. Or its just that nasty in my tank but i dropped my tank yesterday and coffee filtered my fuel and today my pumped was still all gummed up any suggestions to what i should do. Im thinking take mytank down again get rid of all the fuel (fire starter) run some lucas with my next fill up and hope that will solve my problem.
Lucas? uh no. What does this fuel look like and what were you able to filter off? what did that stuff look like? Did it smell bad not like fuel? If so then you have an algae problem. If not then yeah someone might be messing with you. If someone sugared your tank that would be bad. If i had to drop the tank and drain it i damn sure wouldnt put it back in the tank. I would have done a solvent rinse, then let it dry out. If you are going to use something i would double bottle diesel kleen the next tank. Cost a bit more than normal but it will clean crap out very well, that or seafoam in the tank. Get a locking gas cap, simple peace of mine against that crap. i learned that a long time ago being military in hippy town.
ok now this algae u speak of this could very well be what is going on. so disguard the fuel and put seafoam in the tank for the day then let it sit and dry. I know for a fact something is gumming up my pump i just dont know what to do about it. the stuff that came out of the tank was chunky and brown the fuel was pretty clear as fas as it goes smelled like diesel and i dident taste any sugar when i blew threw the pump and got fuel on my tounge
You say you bipassed your oil/water seperator? FYI, I doubt this was the problem, and IMO, you should reconnect it. While you may not need it this time of year, when the seasons start changing, you definitely can get water in your fuel, and it doesn't take much to get into your engine to blow out an injector. When steam is created during combustion, the pressure generated from the expansion of the water is much greater then what your engine is rated for. Maybe this was an old wives tale, but it made sense to me.
dose this sound like I have algea in my tank to you cause tommorow im buying kneqw lines and im gona drop my tank and wash it out with b 12 chemtool or something along those lines GAS maybe

I'm not as familiar with the algae problem, but I do know it should smell kind of wierd, as in not like Deisel, which I thought you said you didn't detect. Ultimately, it can't hurt, and based on everything you've said, you have more of an issue with trash in your tank, lines, filter. The key with this is to do it all at once. If you just change the filter, chances are it will just get plugged again. If you just clean the lines, chances are it will only scrape the surface of trash in the system. Same goes for just cleaning the tank.
In either case, I would clean the tank, discard of the old fuel, pickup some anti-algae chemical and Diesel Clean (gray bottle), new fuel filter. Switch to your other, working, clean tank, replace the filter and fill the new one with the Diesel Kleen. Make sure you get enough Diesel Kleen to fill the filter and have some left over to put in the tank. Run the engine for 30 seconds, shut it down, wait over night. In the morning, go for a spin around the block and romp on it. Once you finish cleaning the bad tank, put the rest of your Diesel Kleen and anti-algae in the tank and fill it up at a station with a high volume of Diesel sales.
