Glowplug LED Indicator

I'm wanting to install an LED on my dash that stays lit the entire time my glow plugs are on. What wire(s) would I need to tap into, and what voltage are they?

Any of the 8 wires going to the glow plugs coming from the Glow Plug Control Module. They are 12V. If you find one of the wires at a glow plug and follow it back, you will find a 4 wire connector. Any 1 of those 4 will work.

the gpcm timer is 2 min there really is no point to the led... unless the clock on the radio is broken.

Just finished, and it works great! Truck starts much quicker when I wait til the LED goes off (approx 60 seconds). Easy mod:

if you are seeing that much improvement from full cycling the glow plugs you might want to test them and make sure none are burnt out. wait to start indicator should be adequate under most conditions

I think the perceived starting improvement is because mah77 has a new LED to look at. In his sig he admits to being an addict, and by installing the GP status LED he now gets his fix every time he starts his truck. The only problem is that it will wear off in time, and he'll have to find something else to tinker with. It's okay, Mike.
