93 f 150 , 2 wd , have to replace the drag link and the spindle on the end from the steering box , any tricks to keeping everything in position during disassembly and assembly so i don't have to have alignment after ? any pointers appreciated
pull the linkage off as a single unit then when you get the new parts put them together the same length as in make sure the new one is the same length as the old one and then put it on ! this will be a good starting point and i have done it many times with out needing a alignment !
Just did mine on my 88 4x4 on Saturday. I'll be putting it on the alignment machine to check the toe in but I think I'm still pretty close. The way I do it is to count revolutions when unscrewing it from the tie rod end. I make a white mark on it so it's easy to keep track of,then just count the same number of turns going back in. It'll get you close, anyway.
