serpentine belt

I put a new belt on my truck.
Now when the belt warms up it squeals.
It just does it at idle or between shifts.
Can I adjust the tension to get rid of the problem

CHeck your pulleys, one might be dragging. The idler pulley is a part that fails often.

i have the same problem i recently have been using belt conditioner and it works but is only a temporary fix

Belt dressings destroy belts, so don't use them. With the motor running, take a look at the tensioner pulley, mounted at the top of the motor, right next to the p/s pump. If it looks like it is jumping around quite a bit, it is most likely bad. A new replacement tensioner is only $40-$60, and will prevent you from being stranded.

did you clean the belt before you put it in because with the belt for my volvo there was some oily resedue on it. just use warm water. you probrally need an new tensioner like FORD_Six said
