good one...but it is obvious...we are talking about Ford's
Alex,
If you are going to quote me verbatim...I have no issue with you identifying me....as to the comment you made, my numbers are quite solid. The warranty rate has been published on this site. It is 1 in 1000. The 2011 production figures are right from the Kentucky Truck Plant production meetings. 300000 new 2011 6.7's will be delivered in the MY run. Only you can decide what number of problems make an issue but statistically, the industry would not agree that the small number of the new trucks with similar issues would meet their standards for a crisis.
I will leave this discussion here because it is beginning to sound like the "Dodge Boys" from RVnet have arrived.

If I ever find out this stuff is not good enough, I'll switch to Mobil 1's CJ4 spec.

just had to comment on flaharley's "real world" . his sample is 10 trucks out of 250,000, 4 0f that 10 had problems that relate more to dealers not following directions to fix them right. in summary to his personal knowledge 5 trucks (counting his) out of 250,000 had problems. thats pretty darn good when i went to school. failure rate of .000016. don't take it too personally just trying to keep perspective

There are several other threads where the "oil wars" take place. Those threads never die. It's just another personal preference item that people are willing to spill blood over.

your going to love the new ride.
I had an 05 loaded Lariet that I traded in on an 08 loaded Lariet. I felt the 08 was much better than the 05 (other than mileage). But the 11 is even that much better then the 08, and better mileage then the 05 got.
I'll always have a soft spot for the my old 05, loved the looks of the front end, but was always worried about the engine. The 08 treated me well, but the 11 is off the charts. I'd wouldn't trade the way this truck drives for my mom's cadillac.

I get mine changed at 5k and have the DEF filled at the same time. Every mechanic I have ever discussed the 10k oil change interval said you could do it but they wouldn't advise it with the amount of towing that I do and the harsh high and low temp climate we live in.
