Anyone done this? I've seen it lots and don't love the idea of hanging the bicycles out there, but i pull and Airstream trailer a lot of the time and don't really want them inside trailer or van. Also, if you know anything about Airstreams, they don't like racks on the rear due to body/frame seperation problems. I'm considering building a receiver for the front to put a bike rack on some of the time. Anyone done this?
Thx Bbasso! I'll check em out. I was thinking of building something because i bet these cost alot, but i'll check it out and see. If nothing else, i can borrow their plans to build my own.
Dang, not a bad price on the Draw-tite or Curt models, don't think i could build if for much cheaper (considering the time involved). This may be my next mod!
Thought about using a front hitch, but since I used the bike rack almost permanently, and worked on the engine bay almost permanently, I decided against the front hitch.
Thx, I've already got one of those, but my trailer is about 7k. I haven't tried it with the van but I tried it with my previous truck and the length it added was just too much, it sagged alot and I didn't feel comfortable using a weight dist hitch with it.
Thx

Yes, that's too much for the adapter. Run a search on this Forum. Some people here run some large rigs and trailers...
i'd like one on my 87 to use for a spare tire mount, as i would love to reclaim that space inside the van where the spare is. i just don't see a receiver listed for that application, anybody seen one?
