im ordering some 22inch chrome rims off ebay for my excursion.. but a friend told me that they have to be heavy duty rims because they will bend under the weight of my truck. is this true? Is there a certain thin wal tire that is "heavy duty" thats easy on the wallet. heres the link to the rims i want...
What you want to look up is how much weight the rims are rated for. I won't worry too much unless you haul big loads. Since the rims have 8 lugs they'll only fit 3/4 ton and up. So, in theory they would be designed to hold the weight of the truck. But you never can be sure with stuff from China so I guess I'd doublecheck.
Things from the US can be light duty also and the tire won't affect the sideway force much. Do some research first and if you don't like them after they arrive just ship them on to me so I can dispose of them properly.
I have been thinking of rims but my concern is the aftermarket wheels look to be lug centric and the stock wheels are hub centric. What is everyones thought on using a lug centric wheel on a hub centric truck?

I would call a retail wheel store and ask that question since they are the experts. Call a couple.
