Guys, i need some help, big time. Just got back from river, this past monday, and noticed the truck was leaking oil. I crawled under and saw it leaking, when motor running, from the npt bar/pipe, for my oil pressure sensor. Its located off the oil cooler. Well, just crawled under it now, to fix it, thinking the teflon tape, wasn't enough, well, it wasnt that, its actually crackked, at the base of the threads. Not knowing that, i tried turning it, and BAM, the pipe broke. Know, i have the sensor in my hand, but the threaded part of the pipe, is broke flush with the threaded hole in the cooler.......what do i do, i'm really bummed right now. I sent the wife up, with my grandfather to get an E-Z out, but not sure, if i should go that route. I'm thinking, dump the oil and coolant, and remove the cooler. Any help fellas, be MUCH appreciated.
If it was my truck then I think I'd try the EZ-out first knowing that it might come out easy and then thread in a new one and be done with it . That is provided that I could get the EZ-out in there and make sure it can get a good bite at the broken part . Might be easier than you think .
thanks Doc, just sketch'n on the thought of any debris in the oil system then. Think'n of filling up the oil pan til it bleeds off/outta the hole. This just aint right.
Ur right, horn, ez-out has now, a spot on my workbench. Worked perfect. Not mess'n with the oil pres sensor for now, thru a plug in ur, and alls' good. Now i just need about a gal of oil. On a positive note, the trucks underbellys', nice n shiney.
