But I think my alternater has gone bad in my moms ford, its having problems turning over and im a bit to cheap to go to the local repair shop
I need to know how hard it would be to take apart to replace this kind of part, I know the barrite is shot, and to get it to run now we need to let it charge for a few hours,
we do have a replacement bat comming, but the alternater can not keep it with a charge while driving as I have seen the Batt light on while driving,
So tl;rt
1. How hard is it to replace the alternater
2.Where can I buy said part near montreal (Yes I could not find a canadien ford four) (nice eh?)
I have read that you need to disconnect the passenger side drive axle to gain access, or at least move the 'center support' out of the way. I have not heard it requires any special tools. I'd say you end up lying on your back under the truck to do the work, so don't forget to wear some eye protection.
