Well, I have 20,000 again on my tires and are in need of replacement. Althought I think the toyo's are a decent tire, they just dont hold up for me, so I have started my search.
I am leaning now towards the BFG's because of the 50,000 mile thing, but I do like the reviews of the goodyear for off road, although the "week" sidewall keeps me thinking
Dang, what do you do in 20,000 miles to wear the tires so quickly?
I just put on some bfg at's and while I haven't driven my truck yet (I'm currently deployed), they look great and I have had good luck with them on previous trucks. Many people here run them too, and I dont hear much bad said about them.
It's cheaper or ought to be,to buy your tire's local, it is here, i can buy any tire that's on the net already mounted and balanced, tax and all cheaper than the advertised price. I just bought Michelin AT2, 285's 1,049$ out the door, rolls, better than BFG's and wear longer and don't cost that much more. Shop around your community will benefit. JMOP.
You might want to look at Michelin XPS Rib...these are commercial tires (brandable, recappable), pricey, but they wear like iron (UPS uses these on their trucks out here).

RRE at the track did not help..nor does the DP tuner. But I believe there must be a flaw int he Toyo open countries as well.

Discount tire is a Local chain, I am using the site to do a little reading from the reviews.

But how would these do for the off road, or winter conditions Neal??

Well I live 10 miles down a dirt road with serious winter conditions...I never had any problem. I wouldn't get them for off-road usage (I don't consider dirt roads to be off-road usage), but for everyday driving they are very good tires.
damn 20k is all you got out of yours..... I sure hope to get more than that, paid too much for only 20k. Did you take care of them and watch air psi and rotate and check balljoints and stuff. That just seems like not nearly enough miles out of a tire.
I would think that something else is going on, or wrong with the truck... Here are my Toyos after about 45,000 roughly... Keeping them rotated and balanced help out a lot as does correct air pressure. I have been really happy with the Toyos, also was equally impressed with Dick Cepek F/C II's got somewhere between 55,000-60,000 out of them. Both sets being 37x13.50, F/CII's wrapped a 16 inch rim, the Toyos are on 18's
Good luck bro, FWIW, had a buddy running the Goodyears and he loved them both on and off road.
Pat we've got the BFGs on our 06 dually and I couldn't be more pleased with them. They're great in mud, snow, and everything between. I've watched that truck spin all 6 on pavement pulling on an excavator track and we spun them a LOT this winter trying to push snow. After 35,000 and change they still look pretty close to new. I'm a big fan.

I agree with Pete. I got 50,000 out of the original set of BFG tires on the 6.0.
