I just found out the threads are slightly different on the screws used to hold in the park and side marker light lenses on my trucks. A couple were well worn and when I went to change them with a normal sheet metal screw (which I thought they were) the pitch was not the same. I finally found some the same called "automotive screws". Am I a late bloomer or what?
What would the thread be called, it doesn't seem to be a typical # 10 or # 12.
Interms of pitch I need to check up on that but you are right about the screws being different. There are all kinds of drives such as Posi drive, Torx, and of course Philips. I'll see if I can find some data on your specific question on screw pitches and post for you.
Thanks for your help.
I'm aware of the different heads but didn't know that there were different screw threads for automotive use. They don't seem to be readily available to buy or I'm looking in the wrong places
