Axle codes? Door jam Sticker. Help
3 25 9 3844D
This is the tag on the Differential. From what i gather this is a 9" with 3.25 gear ratio and a 31 tooth spline. Somewhat confused by the Raised 56 on the cover. From what i found this would be the model # but i cant find any reference to that in any charts?? could really use some help on that. The only other # on the cover is6A30. would that be the model #(30)????
The door jam sticker.
133 T F150 ED4 G 15J
6050 1976 73.
I am not able to find what transmission code G is for I assume c6
Cant really find a reference for axle code 15j.
Also the 73 is a mystery to me.
And lastly on the tag with the gvw etc axle ratings etc. toward the bottom there is FO196/R1121 Spent a lot of time looking the posts and googling and have not gotten too much accomplished.
6050 1976 73.

T= exterior paint- Red
F150 = model code- '75-'79 F150 2WD
ED = Ranger 2WD Styleside
4 = Red all vinyl
G = transmission- 3-spd automatic
15J = axle code - 3.25 gears, load capacity 3.75M, Ford 9-inch
6050 = GVW
1976 =( not normally printed, it's the year)
73 = Domestic Code- Ordered through Salt Lake city. For example, my 70 Bump also has a 73 DSO but sold in Idaho.

* 1961/77 F Series trucks: Ford used the G Warranty Plate TRANS code for every A/T. One had to know which A/T came with what engine.
1976 F100/150: 300 I-6, 302 = C4 / 360/390/460 = C6.

I first thought it said 49. It's a 302 was a 4spd trans F, now C4 auto. The tag on the diff is missing. I know its a Ford 9in. Can't find the code listed anywhere.
1974/79 F100/150 w/a 9 rear axle (no inspection cover). There are two different types of axle seals, as there were two different types of axle bearings.
There is no way to discover which type it has without pulling an axle, even if you had the axle ID tag. Sorry, but that's the way it is. Blame the idiots at FoMoCo.
D4AZ-1225-A .. Rear Axle Tapered Roller Bearing & Seal combination / Bearing only furnished with the seal, only the seal was available separately.
D4AZ-1177-A .. Rear Axle Seal only / 1 7/8" I.D. x 3 5/32" O.D. x 15/16" thick.

EOTZ-1S177-CA (replaced B7A-1177-A & C9AZ-1177-A) .. Rear Axle Seal-Use with ball type rear axle bearing / 1 1/2" I.D. x 2 1/2" O.D.
This 'ball bearing' seal is far more common as it was used in myriad 9" 1957/80 Passenger Cars, 1957/86 F100/150's, 1965/86 E100/150's, 1966/96 Bronco's.
