Door Ajar Warning

2003 Navi. Door Ajar warning is going on randomly which turns on all dome lights. While driving It literally will go off every few seconds with an audible beep warning sound. Its driving me nuts. I have repeatedly slammed all of the doors & it doesn't help. I'm not sure where the door sensors are located but I am guessing that I have either a short, loose wire, or dirty door sensor.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hose down all the door latches including the liftglass with WD40. Open and close the doors a bunch of times. If it doesn't work, do it again.

Mine did the same but only in the heat. Dealer said first they couldn't reproduce it...after 3 days got mad and went to the service manager and he said they could look at it in the codes and claimed he found three door sensor notices. Think he was telling the truth since it was a warranty fix - no money to be made by me.

Get it fixed though...in some states it is illegal to run your interior lights (interior lights, not map lights) at night and if that is your state you could get a ticket.

I had a similar issue myself. I finally determined it was the rear lift-gate latch. It would consistently latch, but wasn't consistently latching all the way thus leaving the dome light on. I sprayed it with some WD-40 and worked it with a screwdriver, repeating that process multiple times, and finally got it working smoothly. It hasn't given me trouble for about a year so all is good now.

WD-40 worked for me. Only I didn't just spray the latches.I sparayed the crap out of them. A good steady stream for at least 10 seconds on all 4 doors and the hatch. That was like 2 years ago. I haven't had a problem since.

Door Ajar Warning

So I sprayed inside the door where the lock mechanism is with WD-40 & my problem is fixed!
