I am sure that there are lots of insecticides that will kill ticks (like mentioned - google). There are a few problems - insecticides are usually non-selective in that they kill lots of good bugs too. There are issues like re-entry periods after spraying to contend with as well as proper gear to prevent inhilation.
One other thing to note is the insect life cycle - they keep coming so a spraying isnt a one shot deal!
I`m in the trees so no way to cut alot of it and so far I haven`t had to spray as we get very few ticks in this yard. Other places is where I usually them.
