This looks great. Do the upfitter switches work as is or is there some additional modifications to make them work? Also, would the OEM trailer brake work? I'm thinking of doing this to my 2000 Excursion.

Thanks man. I currently don't have the Upfitter switches wired up, just haven't had time to wire it since my Ex. Mt Ex is a 01 and it doesn't have the right fuse box need to just be able to plug into the back of it like the later F250. And since yours is a 2000 you'd have to wire it into since you have the same fuse box as me. As far as the OEM trailer brake I don't know as I put an aftermarket one in my truck. Hope this helps.

You can make the OEM trailer brake controller work, but it is not plug and play. Will require some parts changing, pcm reprogramming and parts changing. No one has done an Excursion that I know of, I really hope someone tries!

Welcome to FTE!

That's too much work for a brake controller
Thanks for the info!

Here is a write up I did when someone else asked. It is a lot of work, but it is also groundbreaking. Do it! We will be here to support you!

Has anyone upgraded to an '08 dash? That would look really sharp!

It has been done in Super Duties. Its not an easy project, but it is pretty straightforward. You have to rewire just about every connection, cut the center brace, relocate the blower motor and a few other things. I believe the steering column has to be changed as well since the splines are different. Dimensionally it does fit. I hope someone tries it on an Excursion. Never been done before! We need some ground breaking custom rides out there!

So was the whole dash replaced, or just the half on the driver side? What was the total cost of the swap and how long did it take you?

I replaced just the driver side part and the driver side lower so I could have the little cubby hole. But from what I've read you don't need to replace the lower part.

Sorry I don't have it. When I was trying to find one I ordered the 05 to 07 one and it didn't fit well. I'm pretty sure I bought a 08 to 10 radio kit. And it fit better.
