Hey Buzz, probably won't help but I've got a 65 F100 4X2 Cab that you can have if you need to cut metal out of it. It does have a good roof. The lower part (torque box) is shot.

Hey hooch thanks for the offer the cab roof however is in great shape on mine. Floor pan and cab steps inside the door is where my rust issues are. Not bad though when you see what they have to deal with in the east. If a cleaner cab can be found then I would be for just swapping out. If not I will repair what I have. Thanks again. Hope things are moving along well on all your projects you got a garage full.

So cs65 you are saying no F series bigger than a 1 ton will do? In the years 64-66. I know I can stick an earlier yr cab on there but I am looking for a direct replacement. Is it a frame width issue on trucks bigger than 1 ton? Im unsure as you just dont see that many of them being parted around here.

Thanks for the input there Garbz but my question still has not been answered as it pertains to a 65 f100 4x4. Let me think on how to refrase the question and then ask again. I dont think Im stating it properly. What cab on the larger trucks will be an exact replacement for the cab on my 65 4x4. It has the floor pan of the 61-63 with the inside step and the cab top of a 64-66 with the 2 gusset lines on the top of the cab as you state the taller cab.
The larger F450s and up along with the B and T series will need to be looked at as they could be modified. I cannot verify what will drop on as i have not taken any apart to see. Largest i had was a F1100 Coal delivery truck and nothing in between.
One question i will ask? Are you **** on just what you need or are you willing to modify?
I have a nice 64 cab here in the yard currently for sale.

[QUOTE=garbz2;10405032]The only cab that will be an EXACT unit will be a 65 F100 or F250 4x4 or a 65 F350 You may also use a 66 F250 4x4 or a F350. These cabs will have the correct passenger side pull and drivers side triangular vent and battery box on the floor.

Well Garbz since you asked. I dont consider myself ****. And I suppose there are alot of hobbiest out here who dont consider theirselves **** either. Just because they would like to restore a vehical as close to possible as the way it came off of the assembly line. I dont consider what you do to a vehical as butchering. Im sure what you do passes all vehical saftey inspections before it is let onto the roads. That being said I dont have an interest in your 64 cab. Thanks anyway.

Then you can use any 61 to 66 step type cab. Only rentitive persons like me would point out the wrong roofline if an early cab is used or the incorrect kick panel...LOL..Some persons just have to have the EXACt right and correct things.
The regular cab is easily modified for your use. A cut out for the battery (pattern is all ready there) open up the floor if it is a low unit and some kick panel mods will be all that is needed. The Heater box (four bolt vs three) in your cab will also be different than a standard cab due to the vent and fresh air inlet (it is a mix and match of 65 and 64 parts). Again only someone like me would point it out and bust your stones about it.
It makes your search more generic and a whole lot easier.
