That is the best sounding idi ever !
I am going to e-mail this to my aunt, who dosent like trucks she thinks they dont have any muscle behind them , yea right !

Were can you get moose ip's, ive been looking around and havent been able to find any, Not that i am getting one, but if i run into the funds suddenly someday i just might give them a try.

Since we are on the ip's, subject do standyne ip's have the manufacturing date stamped on the pumps some where, i have a standyne pump on my truck right now and i want to get a rough estimate on how old it is and when it had beed replaced, there is a plate on the pump with info but i cant read it do to the postition it is in, i would hate to stick my head down in there with little mirriors and stuff with wasp buzzing around, and it turns out there is no date.

My moose pump wasn't anywhere near $900. I think Joe might be confusing the original moose pump with a newer higher output that came out recently.

Not sure how the DPS works, but the moose pump is actually a rebuild of whatever pump you send in, so there is no fixed price. Mine was evidently a decent core so the cost wasn't much more than what a regular reman would have been but I prefer not to publish the exact amount.

It was more than $450 though.....

A dyno does not need to know RPM to calculate torque as it is a real physical force. Horsepower, however is a made up number, a byproduct of torque calculated by torque @ a given RPM.

That graph is a pull from 1600rpm - 3200rpm approximately.

So.

(Torque X RPM) / 5252 = Horsepower

558 x 2200 / 5252 = 233rwhp

528 x 3200 / 5252 = 321rwhp (at the peak of my HP curve)

This is confusing me. Why mention the 233 number when overall the best is 321?

321whp and 558wtq sounds right for a diesel.

I'm not sure why he posted the 233 and not the 321... maybe he just got excited and missed it?

If you guys are impressed with this... stay tuned. This was just my "tester". Now that I know I can make it up into the 400whp range fairly easy, and it has held together for the last 10,000 miles without a hint of trouble at 321/558... I'm going into a full build.

Everyone in the IDI world is in for a treat. I will be introducing bolt on parts that I will sell if there is enough interest, I will be unveiling never before seen DPS parts, as well as a full write up on how to build a reliable IDI capable of 400+whp without having to take out a loan to do so.

Oh, there will be interest.... I sure am interested....

Seems like a very do-able and affordable build so far....

Dude, that IS exciting. I'd honestly be happy with a solid 250whp/450wtq turbo'd IDI. That'd be MORE then capable in my book.

most likely right in the respectable neighborhood of Sycostang67's engine; "186whp 363wtq @ 10psi."
(ATS waste gated w/BB codes.)
keep in mind it took moose goods to set the last record of just over 200 ponies,as well as (we don't know for sure) at least a boost gauge pegged @ 15 psi.

Yeah, I was thinking that. He wasn't intercooled though. I wonder if it will be different?

Did you guys even think that he didint have the type4 torque cam and could have turned more rpm if he wanted to without damage id say if he spun it around 4,000 he could get the high 3s or low 4s

I wouldnt put it past this engine, the torque cam seems like something that might be worth investing in for pretty much any IDI that you want more power from. Even though your fuel mileage might go down.
