another IDI record breaker!
1986 F350 Reg cab - 12ft flatbed. Gooseneck over axle. 6.9 - Felpro gaskets, ARP head studs overtorqued, ATS 093 turbo kit, 3" exhaust housing, downpipe, 2.5" up-pipe, 4" straight pipe into 5" tip, DPS stage 1 sticks, DPS turbo cal. pump. ZF S547 trans, stage 2 SMF clutchkit, Carter fuel pump, DieselRX GP's, VDO gauges, Speedhut GPS speedo. T04z comp side. 4" intake tube with Napa 6637 filter.
20-22psi wastegated.

HP number is low because there was no RPM pickup. The horsepower curve is correct, but at the wrong point on the graph due to the machine not knowing the RPM.
A dyno does not need to know RPM to calculate torque as it is a real physical force. Horsepower, however is a made up number, a byproduct of torque calculated by torque @ a given RPM.
That graph is a pull from 1600rpm - 3200rpm approximately.
So.
(Torque X RPM) / 5252 = Horsepower
558 x 2200 / 5252 = 233rwhp
528 x 3200 / 5252 = 321rwhp (at the peak of my HP curve)

I'm on the OBN thread at the same time right now and it seems the numbers may have been held back by a collapsed 6637 air filter (boost was only 16 psi here but he has driving videos of the higher numbers in the low 20s). He says more runs are planned.
Gawd that thing sounds awesome though.....I think I'll play it one more time before going to bed.

Yeah and that doesn't look to be too expensive of an upgrade really. However I'm pretty happy with what my stock 093 with 3" DP can do. I was running 13.5-14psi on original injectors and unknown amount of miles on the pump. Put in the new injectors and the new pump and I didn't turn up the fuel any so I'm back down to about 10psi. I figured I'd start with it as-set (ordered a pump calibrated for a turbo) and then adjust from there. Didn't need the turned up pump for plowing snow but it's summer and I'll be pulling my 8k lb flat nose travel trailer soon. A little extra juice might be in order Though I'm dropping gear ratio at the same time... 3.55 open to 4.10 LSD and a flat or 2 on the pump ought to REALLY wake it up!

I've long said that the compressor side on the bolt on turbo kits was far too small, the T04Z that Justin swapped to is a much better match. All of the bolt on setups are out of their efficiency range much past 12 psi, and off the map at 15+.
Finding an air filter thats going to handle the flow required is going to be interesting, the 6637 is only rated at 425 cfm, and a 6.9 at 20 psi @ 3800 rpm is flowing 914cfm, but, Noone gives what vacuum level that 425 cfm is at, and the PSD guys; save a small few I found searching this morning, don't seem to have issues with a 6637 at similar and higher boost levels, it may just have been a fluke, but, either way a bigger badder filter is needed.

I may be mistaken... There's a place around here which runs trucks on one of those Mustang Dynamometers and the results were never consistent, nor were they very accurate on trucks and more so on diesel trucks. There's another place which has a different dynamometer which is geared for trucks and diesels. My stepfather ran his Chevy truck on one of those Mustang dynamometers and it spit out numbers which didn't pass the sniff test. I was referred to another place, spoke with them and they said those Mustang dynamometers are for cars.

wasnt too bad, sounds like my truck. i love the whistle! As for the torque tripling the hp, that is a bit odd. usually a 50% drop in the numbers is normal for our truck but a 2/3 drop is odd. i would test it on another machine. The fuel could be cranked on that truck by a lot. What are the pyro readings i wonder. Looking at even the largest air filters, they arent rated very high, when doing a dyno run like that in a controlled environment, i would ditch the air filter to get a real life run. just make sure to get the intake tube wrapped with a screen to prevent large debris. hose clamp it on and call it good. Id **** a brick if i saw a 6637 ruined by one of our trucks.
