Is there a easy way to know which rear end it has. 97 F150 4x4? 8.8 or 9? Can't find a tag anywhere. The plan is to purchase a used one and swap. Only need the rear one.

If it has the 5.4, then it has a 9.75
Otherwise it will be an 8.8
Swapping rearends is easy. I did mine before Christmas. Took less than a day laying on my back in the driveway.
