Anybody using an auxiliary fuel tank? Looking at a small one that can be plumbed into fill tube and fill as needed. Any pros or cons, would be appreciated.
I have an RDS 60 gallon toolbox/tank combo. Works great. Box sits below the bed rails even. Works great with my 5th wheel. I've got 60 gallons of B100 in it right now. It's plumbed into the fill line.
X2 on the RDS, that's the same setup I have. Works great! I like how it sits below/flush with the bed rails, I'm able to have a tonneau cover over it.
It just gravity feeds into the factory tank, no worries about wires or pumps. I have had issues with the feed line freezing up in the winter, but it's easy enough to get going again.
You'll find out if your factory tank is tight, otherwise you'll find fuel on your garage floor. I just put the aux tank in my "new" truck and there's something that's not holding tight on the factory tank. I'm gonna have to drop it and check everything out.
