Unhappy WHERE'S MY WHISTLE?

Looking for information on why my exhaust tone goes to a deep tone and then sounds like my turbo is spooling up to a whistle and then drops back down to a deep tone. This happens while at idle. There is also an air leak sound coming from the area around the turbo which starts and stops corresponding with the change in tone. Any information is greatly appreciated!

Your Turbo is sweeping the vanes at idle. To keep them from sticking. Its part of the trucks software.

Unreal04 is right my 03 does same thing, to bad though the jet whistle sound unreal.

Also the 03 builds had a resonator in the down pipe. That was put there to kill the whistle.

Question

My 07 does not sweep at all, another member advised me to take to a dealer here in Iowa and get it re flashed cause the Cali tune is weak. Whonder if thats part of the Emissions tune from Cali?
Seemes to run O.K. boost climes above 20 lbs when i stand on the go pedal. Suppose I have sticky vane issue? 23K miles now and 465 hours

does this mean my turbo is going bad? what about the air leak sound by driverside turbo? i was about to tear into my truck to find out whats going on.

i have the whistle except while sitting idle. sometimes sitting at light or parked is when deep low tone appears for about 30 sec. then i can hear the turbo spooling and then whistle for about a 1min. then deep tone again, or i can tap on the gas and deep tone stops, then starts again? should i be concerned?

Nope, like they said its just the turbo cycling to keep from seizing up. Mine used to do it too until I took the egr valve out.

You have to replace the whole down pipe Im afraid. I noticed a replacement down pipe on ebay that was 3.5" for like $157.00.
