I have a early 74 f250 hi boy pickup that I changed the cab because of rust. I kept the vin tag off the original door, my problem is it been 20 year a go.
I found the vin tag but it is a clear sticker, I do remember peeling it off the drivers door. It has every thing on it just like a metal one, I was told that its not correct and should be metal, this stick was all that was on the door.
Whats correct here, do any of you have a sticker instead of a metal vin tag.
Im almost ready for a state inspection.
Please help.
Thanks Tom
There are both on your vehicle. The paper sticker is the federal certification sticker located on the drivers door jamb. The metal plate is the warranty plate and is located on the drivers door just below the latch.
Both can be reproduced by Kevin Marti, Marti Autoworks.
Just a note, neither are the official VIN tags. The "official" VIN for our trucks is stamped on the passenger side frame rail in the engine compartment. www.martiauto.com
