This is our new Ranger. It's the last of the old model before the new model comes out. It's a 2.5 liter turbodiesel four cylinder 4x4 with high and low. It has a 80cm wading depth and is heavily built with a boxed chassis and has a payload better than many F150s.
The best bit. It cost 15.000 Euros which is about US $20.000 - for a 4x4 pickup!
Sounds like you got yourself a good deal. Folks here have been talking about how nice it would be to get a Ranger with a diesel engine. Gas prices here are making folks think twice about efficiency and a few of the guys/gals here with diesel engines are liking their trucks even more.
How is the performance out of the turbodiesel? What is the horsepower rating?

Performance is fine. Won't smoke the tires, but it'll do 100mph on the Autobahn, no worries.
Well, my 2.5L gas engine wont smoke the tires either and I haven't taken her above 85, but I suppose she would make it to 100. I can't recall these days, but I think I paid around $13K new in 2000. I've gotten my money's worth...and plan to get more. Good luck on your Ranger ownership.
Did you see that, a manual shift transfer case, do they even make them here anymore? All we get is an auto switch on the dash for a motor that stops working and expensive to repair or is that just Chevy trucks lol.
I really like your truck. I would have had no problemn with a nice 4 cyl. gas engine version of your truck right now. I wanted a new long bed Ranger, 4cyl with manual transmission when the wife and I went looking early last year. I didn't even know that Ford had dropped the longbed Ranger in the US. I had to settle for a 06 used one as that was the only one that showed up after a month of searching. Wanting a manual transmission just made it that much harder for me to find.
