Door Adjustment
Door Adjustment
Does anyone here have any experience on adjusting the doors on these trucks? I had to replace the door hinges awhile back on the passenger side and have been playing hell getting the door to open/close correctly. What is the recommended way of doing it? Mounting hinges to truck first and then adjusting, or to door first? Or does it matter? Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
Is this with new weatherstripping as well? It's a pain with new rubber versus old broken in stripping.
Basically align the door to match the a-pillar and fender. Watching your gaps all the way around.
Then move the striker either in or out to finalize the door closing.
If the door is hard to open and close one if the hinges might be binding from Bering crooked in relation to the other hinge.
Aligning the doors is slightly better than trying to align the hood so hang in there.
If you're dealing with new rubber the door will likely not close properly until the seal settles in.
