The best way to buy AE is to get it from Clay at Riffraff Diesel! His price is $360 and you will have support on the product by someone who has used it. The basic AE package you have listed is only the starting package for OBD II generic sensors. Like JT250 mentioned you need the Ford Enhanced package too. on AE's website they charge $199 for the enhanced bundle, so with the one you have listed at $229 + $199 for the upgrade you will be at $428! When I bought mine, Clay was by far the best price out there!
Not sure if this will fit what you are looking for but I picked up this for 100 bucks PLX Kiwi Bluetooth - Connect your Droid mobile device to your car's OBD2 OBDII Port
I use it with my Android phone to monitor everything the ODBII can spit out, plus it checks engine codes. I tried it on my buddies 7.3 that was spitting out some engine codes and it seemed to read it, I gave him the info and he said he was going to buy one too.
There are some quirks that goes along with this Bluetooth device, but nothing out of the ordinary. Being an IT guy I think Bluetooth is a half cooked POS in general, but beyond the random re-pairing issues this thing has worked flawless and exactly like it says it does.
