stopped by pepboys on the way home from work to pick up an oil filter and saw the keyless entry systems they had a basic one on sale for $22 it was a bulldog security system came with the module, 2 key fobs, wiring and a starter immobilizer. figured for that much i can try it and if it doesnt work i didnt lose out on much, wired it in last night was a peice of cake after i fixed where i messed up ha. the unlock button locked it and the lock button unlocked it, fixed that and boy how i dont miss using my key. went back at it this morning and re wired the starter immobilizer relay to work with the lights instead, wired it right into the headlight switch and one of the wires coming from the module turned out to work pretty good, flashes once on the lock cycle then flashes 3 times and stays on for another 10 seconds on the unlock cycle. in my opinion it was well worth the 20 bucks and cheaper than the fob i bought for my old truck that already had the module. probally gonna go back and stock up on them i know a few guys around here that would love to have keyless entry in there obs's. heck of alot easier than going to the bone yard and grabbing some out of an old truck and it has pretty good range too i got the antennae running up the a- piller and the fob works about 100' away
yeah i was used to having it on my previous truck a 95 crew cab dually, bought this truck about a year ago and looked under the dash, no keyless entry box. the kit to make it keyless entry was cheaper that the one fob i bought for the dually though. and it came with 2 fobs
