This ain't the place for this question but I started the thread lol so I'ma ask it lol. When pullin the cluster out I here people saying don't turn it. Over or face down. Something about a fluid in the needles???

There's fluid in the speedo needle that keeps it from bouncing around while you're driving.

Constantly?? Or only a bit. Mine when I first take off it'll bouncy Jump like 10mph jump then settle down. Usually happens between 15ish to around 35.

Technically, its not in the needle....Its in the unit that HOUSES the speedo....

Not exactly...Mine has a flutter too...like 2-3mph...Just a random thing...

The needle it's self is simply a piece of plastic....The anti-vibe fluid is in the speedo unit.....

ah got ya ten four..makes since...so say when i do pull the unit out to replace bulbs and it lay it down flat whats the worse that can happen? i know it sounds like a dumb question but i really have no idea didnt know there a fluid in there till i read on another thread.

When i took mine out i had trouble with it. It doesnt just pull straight out. You have to twist and turn it someways

what type of 194 bulbs would you suggest seeing as there are tons of variations to the 194s out there...should I look more at something like in the picture below? its a T10 wedge type base bulb...

I highly recommend getting the type that 86f150 posted a link to in his write up! the kind i got did not work because in one of two of the wholes if the bulb is too tall it wont go in far enough to lock it into place. we know for a fact that the ones he used will work and that the ones i used will not.

heres a picture of the two types of bulbs i have. the one was not bright enough, the other is the new type that i have in there now.



here is my two that i tried to use and then one of the regular bulbs that came out of it. notice the size difference of them. i would have to say the shorter the bulb the better as long as it has a good amount of light coming from it.
