I'm skeerd to try it too but the 'clear flood' option is on most if not all cars these days though nobody outside of the techs/engineers seems to know about it. It only makes sense to put it on our trucks as well...
I would think one of the techs on here would know.

if you want to see a diesel flood wait til its about 15* outside, disconnect your gpcm and try to start it.you'll be able to play soccer with the smoke that's gonna roll out the tailpipe.they very seldom have problems as long as the glow plugs are working,or you plug it in.holding the pedal to the floor on a diesel will not clear it out,it'll make matters worse.

OK guys, it looks like our 6.0s do in fact have the "clear flood" feature. According to the dieselpower site and another random site our trucks do have the feature. I still would like to hear from one of our seasoned techs but it makes sense that our trucks would have the feature. I don't know if it works the same way as a gasser (assume it does) though.

I seriously doubt that there is any feature that cuts out the fuel pump for any reason. Our injectors rely on fuel in them to prevent damage. That's why we spend so much time talking about fuel pressure gauges and fuel regulator upgrade springs and such.
The same thing could be accomplished by simply not firing the injectors. I have never heard of such a thing, even in gassers. But I'm sure there are a lot of things I haven't heard of.

Yeah it could be something like that on a diesel.
'Clear flood' is feature that is probably on every fuel injected car since the early 90s or late 80s.
