Hand Cranking

ok the truck has sat for 6 months now because of surguries and wanted to ask if anyone thought it would be better to turn motor over by hand a few times to get oil to heads? this is truck in my sig. thanks for any answers.

I would just use the starter. Chances are that the fuel has leaked down and you will have to crank for a few seconds, and by the time it starts the oil pressure will have built up.

thanks, just thought that getting oil to valvetrain would be more like on a rebuild.

i'm up walking without any support but not 100%, about 75% i'd say. harder to relearn to walk than to learn the first time. It's a pricey thing($7500) and it's not el/macanical at all, but has rotation and built in shock absorber to make walking easier.

Just disconnect the fuel IP solenoid and crank until you see oil pressure. Reconnect IP solenoid and you should be good to go.

if your gunna crank it you might as well try to get it to start, just watch the oil pressure if it fires up, you wont move much oil cranking it by hand
