My vote is this was a little old guy who took meticulous care of his truck. A steering wheel cover would have avoided wear from the start. The headlight switch has the tell tale white indicator marker rubbed off and the window lockout switch also has the paint worn, right where he would rest his arm.
I vote the mileage is accurate and the truck is immaculate. It was WELL cared for and probably a lot of the interior was covered to protect it during the time he used it gently. Think of the old plastic covers our grand parents used to protect their sofas ALL THE TIME.
I bet this X was well loved and gently driven but 50K is insaine. It would however make a 7.3 lover a very happy camper if they wanted a showroom quality '03. Notice also, no engine pics
My rig only has 67k and my steering wheel is in very good condition, but it's not blemish free like the one pictured. Now, I agree with you about the deceptive nature of photos. I went to test drive an Ex that looked VERY clean in pictures, but was much dirtier in real life. So, I definitely second that.
But what is portrayed in these pictures is a car that has sat in someone's garage for the last 8 years and not been driven. NOT a car that's clocked 153k in the Texas Sun. (Hat tip to all you Texans on the forum!) Not just the steering wheel, the whole rig looks blemish free! It's ridiculous!
TXSailor, you should go over there and check it out for all the rest of us and give us the lowdown. If it's not too far or too much trouble!
That is one beautiful truck. Obviously nobody is going to pay $50k for it, but the guy probably didnt know exactly where to price it, so he didnt want to undersell it and is just considering offers. If I was going to give a buy it now price, I probably would have put $30k. I believe it has 153,000 miles on it, there is a pic of the odometer, after all. Interesting to note that the CARFAX shows no accidents but the Autocheck shows a minor one. Wholesale value on that truck is $19,200, retail is $22,000 according to Manheim.
No tow mirrors though!?!?!

Reason: observation
I spoke to the dealer, he was asking $21,995 and sold the truck for $20k. After he sold it, he changed the buy it now price to keep anyone from actually clicking it, this is what he told me.
